Station Authorizations

While the FCC eliminated the requirement to post the station FCC license, it still requires that stations operate within all the technical specifications of that authorization.

It is important that engineers review the license to ensure that the data in the document is correct and that the station maintains its operation per the authorization. The FCC places the most current license on the online public file (OPIF).

Some AM stations may get the following message when you click on the link “Authorization not yet created by MB”. This happens when the Commission does not have a digitized copy in their files because the original filing was on paper and not electronically. In this case stations are required to scan their copy and upload to the OPIF and placed in the additional documents folder as seen above.
