At KNME. Our guest presenters are Scott Giles with Heartland Video Service and Joel Wilhite with Harmonic. Below is a summary of the presentation. I expect this one will be a big one so make sure you RSVP if you plan to attend. Our meeting usually starts around noon but showing up for a rag-chew prior is not uncommon. The Road to ASTC 3.0
This presentation will cover recent ATSC standards activity and the test station market status. Included is a recap or overview of why we are doing this or maybe better, remind us of the history of how we got here.
This material will describe what the basic building blocks and some recommended steps to deploying ATSC 3.0 technology so we can be ready for Next Gen TV.
Joel Wilhite is currently a Senior Systems Design Engineer for Harmonic. For 24 years, his career has focused primarily on broadcast television transport technology. Mr. Wilhite has held several positions within Harmonic, including engineering, pre-sales and project engineer as both contributor and lead in the integration group. He also serves as the representative to the ATSC committee and participates in the creation of the ATSC standards. Mr. Wilhite was also enlisted in the US Navy and worked primarily in Supply but worked to design, integrate, implement and maintain a non-secure computer network system while serving aboard the battleship USS Missouri (BB63).
